The Best Family-Friendly Luxury Hotels in Bali

Bali is a wonderful destination for families, whether you’re dreaming of lazy beach days, poolside afternoons or a jungle escape surrounded by rice fields and tropical greenery. The trick is choosing the right hotel.

Travelling with two young children has taught us that a beautiful room isn’t always enough. We look for resorts that make family life easier, with thoughtful service, good food, activities for little ones and enough luxury that parents can enjoy the holiday, too.

Here are our favourite family-friendly luxury hotels in Bali, each suited to a different kind of family holiday.

Why Book Through Muse Bespoke Escapes?

When you book through Muse Bespoke Escapes, we can arrange preferred partner benefits at participating hotels. Depending on the property, these may include:

  • 🍳 Daily breakfast for two
  • 💸 Resort or dining credits
  • ⬆️ Room upgrades on arrival, when available
  • ⏰ Early check-in and late checkout, when available
  • 🌴 VIP recognition and welcome amenities

With young children, these extras can make a real difference. Breakfast taken care of every morning is one less decision to make, while a resort credit can go towards a lovely family dinner or something indulgent for the adults.

The Apurva Kempinski Bali — Best for Grand Luxury With Little Ones

The Apurva Kempinski Bali is a spectacular choice for families who want impressive architecture, excellent dining and a full-service luxury resort experience.

Located in Nusa Dua, the hotel makes a grand first impression with its dramatic architecture and sweeping ocean views. But what stood out to us as parents of two toddlers was how much there was to enjoy beyond the beautiful surroundings.

  • 🏖️ Beautiful pools and beach: Multiple pools, shallow areas and a pristine beachfront make it easy to spend the day outdoors.
  • 🐠 Koral underwater restaurant: Our toddlers loved dining alongside the sharks, manta rays and colourful fish in the aquarium. The feeding sessions were particularly entertaining, and the food was genuinely good.
  • 🍜 Excellent restaurant variety: Beyond Koral, there are several dining options, including hotpot and dim sum and a beachfront seafood restaurant. As a toddler mum, I appreciate being able to enjoy a proper dinner without organising transport or rushing back for bedtime.
  • 🧸 Kids club and spa: Children aged four and above can be dropped off at the kids club, which has an outdoor playground. We used the opportunity to enjoy the spa, which was excellent in our own experience.
  • 🍼 Thoughtful family amenities: Bottle sterilisers, children’s bathrobes and portable potties make travelling with little ones easier.

The resort is enormous and built into a hillside, so getting around involves walking and sometimes multiple lifts. Buggy transport is available, but we’d still recommend bringing a lightweight stroller.

Best for: Families wanting grand luxury, memorable dining and plenty of activities without needing to leave the resort.

Grand Hyatt Bali — Best for Water-Loving Toddlers and Affordable Luxury

Grand Hyatt Bali is one of the most well-loved family-friendly resorts in Bali, and after staying here with our toddlers, we can see why. The atmosphere was relaxed, the hotel was full of families, and children seemed absolutely delighted to be there.

Also located in Nusa Dua, approximately 15 minutes from the airport depending on traffic, it’s particularly convenient for families who want to minimise travel time.

  • 💦 Fantastic pools: The resort has multiple pools, a lazy river, water slides and a toddler splash pool. My toddler went down the slides approximately 35 times. I stopped counting after that.
  • 🏖️ A lovely beach: Although it’s not private, the beach was clean and the water relatively calm during our stay. Our toddlers loved playing in the sand.
  • 🧒 Kids’ facilities for every age: There are a toddler’s club, kids’ club and teens club, plus readily available babysitting services.
  • 🧜‍♀️ Magical themed rooms: We stayed in the mermaid-themed room, where a mermaid welcomed us at check-in and led us to our room. It came with a mermaid costume, jewellery and an arts-and-crafts corner. There’s also a pirate-themed room with bunk beds, costumes, a ship’s wheel and a hammock. Each themed room is unique, so book early.
  • 🍣 Dining and shopping: We particularly enjoyed the Japanese restaurant, while Pasar Senggol offers a night-market-style experience featuring Indonesian and Balinese cuisine. Bali Collection shopping centre is also just steps away.

The rooms are clean and functional rather than cutting-edge luxury, but the extensive grounds, mature tropical gardens and efficient service make this an excellent choice if you plan to spend most of your time outdoors. All-inclusive packages are also available.

Best for: Families with toddlers and young children who want water slides, themed rooms and excellent value for a luxury resort.

Andaz Bali — Best for a Quieter Beach Holiday

Sanur is one of our favourite areas to consider for families who prefer a calmer pace. It feels more relaxed than some of Bali’s busier tourist hubs, making it a lovely base for beach time and easy family outings.

Andaz Bali combines contemporary design with tropical landscaping and a village-inspired layout.

  • 🏊 Spacious rooms: Selected rooms offer direct access to the lagoon, creating a lovely indoor-outdoor feel. Families with toddlers should consider water access carefully when choosing a room category.
  • 🥐 A breakfast spread worth waking up for: We really enjoyed the huge variety at breakfast, with plenty of healthy choices to keep even the pickiest little eaters happy. When your kids are spoilt for choice and eating well, that’s a parenting win in my book.
  • 🐢 Turtle programme: The resort offers turtle-related activities that introduce children to marine life and conservation.
  • 🎨 Engaging kids’ activities: There’s plenty to keep younger guests entertained, giving parents a little room to relax.
  • 🌴 A quieter location: Sanur is a great choice for families seeking a more laid-back beach holiday.

We love the idea of a holiday where you can enjoy the pool, explore the surroundings and return to your room when little legs get tired, without feeling obliged to fill every day with excursions.

Best for: Families who want contemporary luxury, spacious accommodation and a relaxed beach holiday in Sanur.

Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay — Best for Timeless Luxury

best family friendly luxury hotels in bali

We haven’t personally stayed at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay, so we can’t offer a firsthand review of this particular property. However, having stayed at more than 10 Four Seasons properties around the world, we confidently recommend the brand to families who want attentive service without sacrificing luxury.

One thing we’ve consistently appreciated across our stays is how thoughtfully the little ones are considered. Family-friendly service doesn’t need to mean turning a sophisticated resort into a playground. It’s about thoughtful amenities, staff who engage warmly with children and flexibility that makes family travel easier.

  • 🌊 Beautiful beachfront setting: Jimbaran Bay is ideal for families looking for a coastal escape.
  • 🏡 Private-villa-style accommodation: Room categories offering additional space and privacy can be especially appealing for families.
  • 🍽️ Polished dining and service: Four Seasons is a strong choice for travellers who value excellent food and attentive hospitality.
  • 🧸 A family-conscious approach: Based on our experience across the brand, we appreciate its ability to look after younger guests while maintaining a sophisticated luxury experience.

Best for: Families who value personalised service, a beautiful coastal setting and the consistency of a trusted luxury hotel brand.

Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana — Best for Culture and Older Children

For families wanting to experience Bali beyond the beach, Ubud offers a completely different atmosphere, with lush landscapes, traditional architecture, art and cultural experiences.

Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana feels like an art museum set within tropical gardens. Its sculptures, Balinese design details and beautiful grounds make the property itself part of the experience.

We think this hotel may be particularly rewarding for families with older children who are curious about art, culture and the world around them.

  • 🎨 Art-filled grounds: Wandering around the resort feels like exploring an open-air museum.
  • 🎈 Hot-air balloon experience: Tanah Gajah offers a distinctive hot-air balloon experience, providing a memorable perspective on the surrounding landscape. Confirm availability and operating conditions when booking.
  • 🌾 Peaceful Ubud setting: The resort offers a greener, quieter alternative to a beach holiday.
  • 🏛️ Cultural details: Traditional Balinese art and architecture give families plenty to discover together.

With babies and toddlers, we tend to prioritise easy pool access and activities that keep little ones occupied. With older children, we love the idea of staying somewhere that sparks curiosity and becomes part of the adventure.

Best for: Families with school-age children who enjoy culture, art, nature and unique experiences.

Capella Ubud — Best for the Ultimate Luxury Jungle Escape

best family friendly luxury hotels in bali

For families seeking something truly special, Capella Ubud offers an immersive jungle experience unlike a conventional resort stay.

Inspired by early explorers, this distinctive property features beautifully designed tented accommodation nestled in lush rainforest. It combines the romance of an expedition with the comforts and personalised service of a luxury hotel.

  • 🌿 Immersive jungle setting: Tropical greenery creates a sense of escape from Bali’s busier areas.
  • ⛺ Distinctive accommodation: The tented rooms offer a memorable alternative to a traditional hotel suite.
  • 🛎️ Personalised hospitality: The intimate approach to service suits travellers who appreciate thoughtful, tailored experiences.
  • 🐒 A nature-focused stay: The setting offers a different way to experience Bali beyond the beaches.

Capella is a property where the stay itself becomes a highlight, rather than simply a base between excursions. We’d recommend families consider their children’s ages and needs when choosing it, particularly with very young toddlers, and check room layouts, safety considerations and available activities before booking.

Best for: Families seeking an extraordinary luxury escape focused on nature, design and immersive experiences.

Final Thoughts

There’s no single best family hotel in Bali. The right choice depends on your children’s ages, your preferred pace and whether you want beachside relaxation, extensive kids’ facilities or a cultural jungle escape.

  • 🛝 For toddlers and water slides: Grand Hyatt Bali
  • 🐠 For grand luxury and memorable dining: The Apurva Kempinski Bali
  • 🐢 For a quieter beach holiday: Andaz Bali
  • 🌊 For personalised luxury service: Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay
  • 🎨 For culture and older children: Tanah Gajah
  • 🌿 For an extraordinary jungle escape: Capella Ubud

If you have enough time, combining a beach stay with a few nights in Ubud can give you the best of both worlds. With young children, we’d generally avoid changing hotels too often, but one well-planned change of scenery can be lovely.

At Muse Bespoke Escapes, we help families find the right property for their needs and arrange preferred partner benefits where available. Get in touch with us and we’ll help you plan a Bali holiday that works for the whole family — because the children deserve a wonderful trip, but so do you.
