Is Little Trouble Kids Clothing Worth It? My Honest Thoughts

Last month I got it in my head that Felix and I needed more mommy and me matching outfits, which led me to the bitter disappointment that many brands make boys' clothing as an afterthought or seem to think that a toddler will do well in a button down shirt that needs pressing.

Last month I got it in my head that Felix and I needed more mommy and me matching outfits, which led me to the bitter disappointment that many brands make boys’ clothing as an afterthought or seem to think that a toddler will do well in a button down shirt that needs pressing.

I prefer clothing he can play outside in and that will be fine getting dirty, because that’s what little guys (and gals) do.

My search led me to Little Trouble and I fell in love immediately. The designs are so edgy and fun, and such a departure from the cartoony or uninteresting stuff that’s often available for toddlers. Here’s everything to know about the quality and fit before you buy Little Trouble:

TL:DR – It’s the real deal, buy it.

Little Trouble Styles

Before we get into it, these were gifted to me after I begged the founder to let me test them, however, I don’t write positive reviews unless I love something.

Little trouble is so different from anything else I have found for toddlers. Founded by a boy mom who wanted to create something that her husband would want to match with, she created a rare brand that caters to boys (and parents of boys) while still totally being wearable by little girls, too.

Think edgy T-shirts and checkered vests, slightly oversized sweats and sweatshirts, board shorts, and lots of fun sayings and cool designs. it’s California skater/surfer culture at its finest and it reminds me of my own childhood, so it’s fun to dress my kiddo in this style, finished out with our matching Vans of course.

Although we have the sweatshirts, which are great for cooler weather, there are plenty of T-shirts and adorable board shorts, snapback hats, and shorts available as well.

Little Trouble Fit and Quality

Little Trouble isn’t like the cheapie stuff from Amazon (which I’m personally over – I want quality that will last and ideally that I can sell when I’m done!). It’s thick and super soft, and I love the patterns and designs.

They also have thoughtful details like extra lightening bolts on the arms and a cute LT tag on the pockets.

The signature Little Trouble fabric blend is a sustainable organic cotton and bamboo fiber (we love bamboo clothing in this household!). I find it luxurious and thick – the kind of thing that needs a little extra time to dry than the rest of your clothing. This makes it perfect for those cooler weather trips or crisp fall weather, or a California winter, like the brand’s headquarters in Oceanside, California.

This oversized and slouchy style on little kids is beyond adorable, and I even took it a step further by sizing up for my son, who usually wears a size 2T (I went with 3T). This way, we can wear it next year, too. We have the Never Grow Up hoodies, the Stay Fast hoodie (which I chose as it features sak yant tatoo designs from Thailand, and I have a couple on my back as well), and the happy face joggers.

I’m wearing a size medium but since I’m on the taller side (5’8), I wish I’d gone for a large for a more oversized look, though I like the fitted look of the medium as well. I’m extra happy to report that it has nice, long sleeves, as a long-limbed woman who often suffers from the dreaded too-short-sleeves.

Sizes range from 6m (can you imagine a little baby in these hoodies? My heart!) to 6T with some youth sizes in various styles, and from XS to XL in adults. We have this one.

Little Trouble Mini Matching

When it comes to mommy-and-me (or parent-and-me) matching clothing, you have two kinds of brands – the ones that create adults clothing and have kids clothing as have fun little addition, or the other way around.

Little Trouble is more of a kids brand that has a few parents matching options, and I tend to find that the kids clothing is a little bit nicer and more thought out in these cases.

Felix and I have the Never Grow Up matching crewneck sweatshirts. I wore mine all the time on our recent trip to Norway since it was so thick and soft. I’m all about comfort, for both me and my son who deals with eczema, and we rocked Little Trouble more often than not.

I wanted to wait to write this until I’d really tested out Little Trouble and put it through a few washes and adventures, and am happy to say we love this brand, and I’m sure you will, too!
