The BEST Nuna Mixx Dupes
Nuna is the top of the line when it comes to baby strollers. What they make is sturdy, sleek, and frankly, a status symbol. Beyond that, they prioritize nontoxic ingredients, but it comes at a cost – over $1000 for the Mixx stroller, to be exact.
Is it possible to get the same features for less, and ideally, are the best Nuna Mixx dupes and alternatives compatible with Nuna Pipa car seat?
I’ve been scanning forums and looking at social media to see which dupes moms like best, plus have owned and tested a few myself. These are my favorite Nuna Mixx dupes out there:
Cybex Balios S Lux 2 Stroller
For those seeking a stylish and sophisticated ride for their little one, Cybex is known for making high-end options. I love their Artipoppe dupe too.
While many of their strollers rival Nuna in price, the Balios S Lux 2 Stroller is only $650 and like the Mixx, has a reversible seat, and can be compatible with a bassinet or car seat. If you want to use the Nuna Pipa car seat, these adapters can make it work.
What people love about the Balios is its attention to detail, with luxurious fabrics and leatherette accents that exude elegance. However, some parents may still find the price tag steep (keep reading, I have more options!).
Mompush Ultimate
The Mompush Ultimate2, priced at around $400 including the bassinet ($299 without), offers an affordable alternative without compromising on quality.
Parents appreciate its durability, versatility, and shock-absorbing suspension system along with its lightweight and compact design. This is the one I found the most on message boards for those who were singing the praises of a Nuna dupe.
While it looks similar, it has significantly less storage and the seat can’t be reversed, however it has a full recline and has great reviews, and moms on multiple message boards were pretty excited about it. Plus, you can use a Nuna Pipa car seat with the included adapter.
Promising review: “I’m still in love with the stroller and it has held up well. We have now switched to the seat attachment since our child is out of the car seat. It reclines all the way back which is awesome for naps and has so many ways to position, which is amazing!”
Baby Jogger City Select 2 Stroller
The Baby Jogger City Select is a practical and budget-friendly alternative to the Nuna Mixx, priced at around $600. While it may not have all the bells and whistles of the Mixx, it has one big perk the Mixx does not – its ability to convert from a single to a double stroller with ease.
It also has ample storage, the ability to full recline, Thermal-regulating TENCEL fabric is used on the canopy and padded seat, creating sustainable comfort that’s soft and breathable, and an adjustable handlebar. It’s also compatible with the Nuna Pipa car seat. However, some users have found the maneuverability to be lacking, especially on rough terrain.
Promising review: “I ended up buying this stroller last November and have never looked back. It’s literally the best. So compact compared to my other one. Soooo smooth. Great in the rain. Storage underneath is great. Can recline. Easy to steer. I regret so much not buying this when I first wanted it. Love love love.”
Britax Willow Grove SC Baby Travel System
For a stroller that’s as versatile as the Mixx, with the option to add in the car seat, reverse the seat, and have it fully reclined in either position, the Britax Willow Grove SC Baby Travel System is one many parents love, but at a more wallet-friendly $559 including the car seat.
While it may not have the premium look and feel of the Mixx, it offers practical features like an adjustable handlebar, and ample storage basket. It also comes in more colors, like purple and jade.
Promising review: “I am so impressed with the full set. The quality is great and it’s the whole travel system in one. Its the travel system that will go long way with the child’s growth as you can switch it from baby mode to toddler mode easily. The bottom basket is pretty wide and can easily fit a baby bag along with other baby accessories, and the seats are soft and made of high quality material.”
Chicco Bravo Primo Trio Travel System
The Chicco Bravo Travel System offers an affordable solution that also includes a car seat for around $600. Parents love its one-handed fold, adjustable handlebar, and large canopy for sun protection. It also has a leatherette push handle that doesn’t touch the ground when folded, large wheels with foam-filled treaded rubber tires, and all-wheel suspension.
It’s also one of the highest-rated strollers on this list, with a 4.8 rating with over 3000 reviews.
Promising review: “Absolutely love this stroller/car seat combo. Everyone who sees it says it’s very nice. It rolls very easy, folds very quick and isn’t too heavy. The car seat is very sturdy and I feel my daughter is extremely safe in it. It also assembles easily and for the price, it’s the best bang for your buck.”
NUNA TAVO
Just because the Nuna Mixx is out of your price range doesn’t mean you can’t buy a Nuna stroller! Although the Mixx is the most popular stroller the brand makes, I find it to be larger than we usually need for our day-to-day lives, and ultimately sold mine.
The Nuna Tavo on the other hand, only costs $550 and is compatible with Nuna infant car seats. It’s also a great travel stroller, and has the full recline but doesn’t have nearly the storage the Mixx has.
Promising review: “Super satisfied! Love the suspension on this stroller. The ability to lay flat makes changing diapers so convenient with privacy of the fully extended overhead covering. Having the wheels and handle bar easily removable has helped a ton with traveling.”
UPPAbaby Minu
While the UppaBaby Vista and Nuna Mixx are comparable (I’ve owned both, and can vouch), the UppaBaby Minu (read our full review) is similar to the Nuna Tavo and when I’ve tested both brands of strollers, I had to give the slight edge to UppaBaby (but not the car seat).
The Minu, like the Tavo, is a great day to day stroller that won’t have quite the storage capacity of the UppaBaby Vista (compare them here), but provides similar high-end features, suspension, and recline. You can also use the Nuna Pipa car seat with adapters.
BabyZen Yoyo2
Although nowhere near the size of the Nuna Mixx, I felt like I had to include the ultra popular Babyzen Yoyo2. It’s one of the most loved travel strollers out there and can also fit in the overhead bin of an airplane, which few strollers can.
With adapters, it’s compatible with the Nuna Pipa car seat, and can be used with a bassinet. However the storage is minimal, and it doesn’t have a full recline. I ended up favoring the Joolz Aer over the Babyzen (read my full Babyzen review), but I seem to be in the minority judging by what I see most often on the sidewalk.
Used Nuna Mixx
Before you give up on the dream of a Nuna Mixx, know that you don’t have to buy a new one. I love buying secondhand baby items for multiple reasons, the biggest being that many of them are hardly used, and I often can sell them for exactly what I paid, thereby essentially renting it for free.
I did just that when I got my Nuna Mixx, which even came with a brand new bassinet. Normally the combo would cost $1600 new, but I got it for $250 at a secondhand kids store. I used a steam cleaner to sanitize it, washed the detachable parts, and it might as well have been new by the time I was done. Since I paid so little for it, it was easy for me to recoup the cost when I sold it on Mercari later.
What I have learned is that quality stuff, particularly secondhand, is the best way to do it. It retains its value, could last for a good 10 years or more because it’s a quality brand, and my son doesn’t get exposed to the chemicals that the cheaper brands utilize. Things also stay out of landfills, which is great, because our kids inherit this planet.
While the Nuna Mixx might be the dream for many new parents, it’s not your only option, and with so many great secondhand ones floating around the market, you can score a great deal on any premium stroller without having to pay a premium price.
